Mr. Nitta

Ok sometime ago I was on Hypebeast.com and discovered Keiichi Nitta, a Japanese photographer who's just published a new book back in April, Bowery Boys (awesome). I started looking up his work and was addicted. His point-and-shoot style of close friends and models is interesting, and heavily influenced by famous fashion photographer Terry Richardson (he was Terry's assistant for 6 years). At first, I could not stop looking up Keiichi and other photographers of similar style. It {the style} reminds me of work I did when I began flirting with photography. However, after a while I "knew" that you couldn't make money by just taking pictures of your friends and actually get paid for it. Years later, I see here that you can be taken seriously for taking a bunch of candid self-portraits and "in the moment" photos of crazy friends. Does this confuse anybody else? I am by no means bringing negativity towards Nitta or other photographers with the similar style, but when does it get old? Many artists have started out the way I have, but for some reason I still enjoy looking at other's work who shoot like that. Figures it would be in the fashion medium. What do you think?
